Halloween is a time for fun, frivolity and parties, whether you are 5 years old or 50!
But rather than waiting for your Halloween costume party invitations to pop through your door, why not host your own get-together and show off your own, stunning Skeleton Fancy Dress outfit?
You’d be surprised to learn just how easy it is to organise a themed Halloween costume party and it really won’t take weeks of planning or involve intricate details at all.
The whole enterprise can be arranged along the simplest of ideas and the trick will be to get your friends to do much of the work for you, without them even realising it.
Firstly, you’ll need to issue your invitations. Let your friends know that you’ll be offering a prize for the best and most imaginative costume of the night as this will be certain to spur them on to make the best effort with their outfit that they can. You can easily find something suitable as the shops will be stuffed full of inexpensive Halloween goodies in the weeks beforehand.
Next, sort out some really good games – apple bobbing is a great one to choose but many people might not want to get their faces and hair wet, ruining their carefully applied Halloween make up. So instead, suspend the apples on some string, tie the strings to a broom handle and suspend between two chair backs. The idea is to see how much of the apple can be eaten in a set time – a minute or two is best – then just stand back and watch the fun!
Finally, scour the supermarkets for Halloween foods. The aim is not to provide a three course meal for your guests but rather to have a good choice of fun foods such as pumpkin shaped biscuits, spider decorated iced cakes and any other themed goodies you can find. Invite your guests to bring the most unusual Halloween foods they can find and again, offer a prize for the most ingenious.
